Non-Invasive Odor Restoration
The OdorKlenz-Air Cartridge is a safe and effective process to eliminate odors in enclosed spaces. The OdorKlenz-Air Cartridge can provide faster odor elimination capabilities, a safer working environment, higher customer satisfaction, and can lower additional living expenses for the policyholder. The OdorKlenz-Air Cartridge does not release any chemicals/molecules (free radicals, chemicals, or masking agents) into the environment (like ozone generators, hydroxyl generators, and thermal fogging). The process draws in the existing airborne odor contaminates and a chemical mechanism inside the cartridge destroys and/or immobilizes the offending molecule. It can be used in combination with source odor treatment methods to offer faster and safer results.
Where to Use:
The OdorKlenz-Air Cartridge is to be used on odors caused by fires (including protein), water damage, sewage backups, decomposition, and a variety of other sources. The process is non-invasive and should be used in situations where people are or will be present.
Process:
- Locate odor source(s) or areas that have a strong residual odor.
- Calculate the cubic volume of the area being treated to determine the recommended number of OdorKlenz-Air Cartridges to be used.

- Strategically place the system (OdorKlenz-Air Cartridge with air scrubber) in the odor contaminated air space appropriate for the OdorKlenz-Air Cartridge(s) being used (see above table for volume recommendations).
- Place a system in close proximity to the source of the odor (or where the source was located) and in areas of highest odor contamination.
NOTE: If the space is non-contiguous, additional systems (air scrubber with OdorKlenz-Air Cartridge) maybe required. Example: 1,500 square feet (15,000 cubic feet) spread over a multi-floor home may require a system on each floor.
- Place the OdorKlenz-Air Cartridge(s) into the air scrubber(s). A pre-filter may be used in heavy soot or particulate conditions. Remove the OdorKlenz-Air Cartridge from the packaging just prior to use. Once a cartridge has been removed from the plastic bag, it will begin absorbing odors.
-

- Turn on the air scrubber as per unit’s operational manual.
- Since the OdorKlenz-Air Cartridge does not release chemicals, it is safe to use around sensitive fabrics, plants, pets, and people without any special precautions.
NOTE: The following additional steps may be taken to improve odor elimination results. Source odor removal/direct deodorization is always required for complete odor control.
- Remove filters from furnace, heaters, air conditioners, humidifiers, etc. These filters can be "traps" which may hold the odor residues and restrict full circulation of air.
- Seal off any openings or ducts leading to areas that you do not wish to treat; and conversely, open or remove interior doors, passages, trap doors, cabinets, lockers, ceiling tiles, access panels that may be blocking access to areas you want or need to treat.
- Allow the system (air scrubber with OdorKlenz-Air Cartridge) to run for the duration of the job.
- Odor improvements can be observed within minutes and hours. The total job time is dependent upon odor concentration, treatment area, source odor treatment procedure success, and environmental conditions.
- Remove the odor-causing source if possible.
- If not, neutralize the odor source using cleaning or direct deodorization processes after the OdorKlenz-Air Cartridges have been deployed.
